Interval Protocol drills are designed to test speed endurance and intermittent performance.
With at least two timing gates per lane, the athlete moves from Gate A to Gate B (in either direction) in a Fixed Recovery or Fixed Duration format for the set number of reps indicated.
Suitable for SmartSpeed Pro and SmartSpeed Plus.

Run the drill
Click Ready to begin your session. You will see the name of your first athlete appear both in the SmartSpeed Plus app, as well as on the LED display of the first timing gate.
After breaking the beam of the first gate, their time will begin.
If performing a Fixed Duration drill, this timer will begin counting down in the app immediately. If performing Fixed Recovery, this timer will begin counting down once they have broken the final gate in the drill.
The athlete will see all timing gates change colour - from red to blue to green - to signify that they can begin their next rep.
Countdown in app | Countdown on unit |
Each rep other than the first can be started from either direction (i.e. first gate to last gate, last gate to first gate).
Once the final rep is complete, the next athlete can complete their trial.
If you have trial validity enabled, this will only appear at the end of each trial, not the end of each rep within the trial.
