It is recommended that you update your ForceDecks firmware as soon as a new version becomes available to ensure your force plates stay current and supported.
Note: Updating ForceDecks firmware can only be done using a Windows device. If you only have access to Mac operating systems, please contact VALD Support for options.
Before you begin
You will need:
- A USB cable
- A Windows laptop or computer with ForceDecks Windows software installed
Confirm that your ForceDecks Windows application is running on the latest software version. If a new version is available, you will be see a blue banner along the top of the app window.
Update your ForceDecks firmware
- Connect your ForceDecks plates to your computer using the provided USB cable. Ensure the two plates are connected with the interplate cable.
- Turn on your system with a single, short press to the power button.
- Log in to your ForceDecks Windows application. A green banner will appear at the top of your application if a firmware update is available.
- Click the green banner to open the ForceDecks Configuration window. Alternatively, navigate to Options > Settings > Platform and click the ForceDecks button.
- Ensure 'Only use USB device connection' is selected from the Connection types dropdown. The application will begin searching for devices connected via USB.
Not seeing your ForceDecks in the list? Press Ctrl + F5 together on your keyboard to identify plates that may be in bootloader mode.
- When your device is detected, click the
icon next to it and press the update button.
- Click Confirm on any dialog that appears and let the update process complete.
Do not turn off or disconnect the force plates until the firmware update has fully completed.
