Before using your ForceDecks V1 system, you will need to complete a short setup process. This guide walks you through each step.
This article relates to V1 models of ForceDecks – plates with a black surface (FD4000 or FDLite V1). If your ForceDecks plates have a silver surface, see the V2 assembly instructions.

Setup considerations
| Surface: |
The surface on which the plates are placed should be as flat and rigid as possible to avoid vibrations. To test the flatness of your surface, step on each corner of the plate to ensure there is no movement or rocking. |
| Spacing: |
Ensure you have at least a 1 meter (3 foot) radius of clear space around the ForceDecks. Leave a small gap between the plates to minimize cross-interference which may be caused by the plates touching. |

Identifying primary and secondary plates
Your primary plate has three ports beneath the edge of the plate, visible if you lift it up – refer to the diagrams above for the exact location which depends on your model of ForceDecks.
The secondary plate only has one single port for the interplate cable.
- Place the primary plate on the left and secondary plate on the right, observing the spacing guidelines above.
- Plug in the interplate cable, one end into each force plate.
- Plug the primary power cable into its slot on the primary plate.
- Connect the primary power cable to the wall power cable and attach this to a power source at the wall. You may use one of the country-specific power adapters as required.
- Plug the circular end of the USB cable into the primary plate, and the other end into your computer.
If using the ForceDecks wireless adapter to connect to a device via Bluetooth, see our article.
Install ForceDecks V1 drivers
To be able connect with a V1 model of ForceDecks, your device must have the correct LabJack drivers installed.
- On your Windows device, download the setup file from the following link:
- Run the .exe file on your device and allow the installation to complete.
- In most cases, you will need to run the installer a second time. This is because many PCs do not have the required dependencies installed at the outset.
- Open your ForceDecks Windows application and log in.
- With your plates connected via USB as above, open the
menu and go to Settings.
- In the Platform tab, ensure the Selected Platform Type dropdown is showing ForceDecks FD4000/FDLITE (LabJack). Press OK to save any changes.
