Where does VALD get outcome measures from?
VALD has chosen to make available a number of different standardised questionnaires. These outcome measures have been selected for the following reasons:
- They are commonly used, so they are of ‘high utility’.
- Affordable for a free platform (some outcome measures, even those widely used and recorded with a pen and paper, require expensive licences for digital media).
- They cover a wide range of purposes from screening, mental health, global health scores and regional or condition-specific surveys.
- They are known to have reasonably sound psychometrics.
- They have use at the practitioner and patient level, not just for research purposes.
Can I request a new outcome measure be added to VALD Hub?
There is a process for raising new outcome measures, including user requests, affordability (some outcome measures need an expensive licence to use), and sound psychometric properties appropriately aligned with our health objectives. Clients can raise requests for new outcome measures via the feedback form or through the client success team. VALD staff can raise new outcome measures requests via the feedback form or directly through the product team.
Is it possible to edit or customize an existing outcome measure?
Outcome measures cannot be edited as the questionnaire and the evaluation is standardised.
What if I need my patient to complete a questionnaire outside of the set schedule?
To add an outcome measures questionnaire outside a set schedule, you will need to setup a new outcome measures series. Ie. you have outcome measures scheduled for every 4 weeks for your patient, however your patient comes back at the 2 week mark and you want them to complete that particular outcome measures questionnaire again. In this case you need to assign the same outcome measures starting today with a recurrence count of 1.
What happens if the patient doesn't complete the questionnaire?
The client is sent reminder notifications, but it will become inactive after several days if they don't complete the outcome measures. Clients will still get the invitation to complete the following survey when it is due until it is stopped (the default is 12 months for most surveys, or you can set this manually yourself).
Are there guidelines on what condition/s to use each outcome measure with?
Please follow this link for a more in depth list of outcome measures suitability.
Do patients get reminders?
Yes, patients will receive automated reminders when the recurrence arises.
Will I get reminders about outcome measures due dates for my patients?
Clinicians will not receive any reminders. To check if your patient has completed their outcome measures, you need to go into their profile and check their Outcome Measures tile.
Can I export or print results of completed outcome measures?
At this time, there is no option to export or print outcome measures results.
