This article provides a comprehensive overview of all the features and improvements that have been implemented in each HumanTrak release for Windows.
v4.1.4September 9 2024
New and enhanced features
- You can now perform two new tests using your HumanTrak system:
- Shoulder Internal Rotation – Neutral
- Shoulder External Rotation – Neutral
- Test names for current Shoulder Internal Rotation and Shoulder External Rotation tests have been updated to 'Shoulder Internal Rotation at 90º Shoulder Abduction' and 'Shoulder External Rotation at 90º Shoulder Abduction'.
- Minor improvements to test prompts and real-time metric displays have been added to the Seated Hip Internal and External Rotation, and Shoulder Internal Rotation tests.
- You can now easily delete a rep without having to pause the test.
- Minor user interface improvements.
v4.1.3August 6 2024
New and enhanced features
- You can now add notes on a test and session level.
- We've added in the ability to view peak and average of peaks for the primary metric for each test.
- We've improved the reporting workflow, allowing you to view longitudinal snapshots in the Session Report and PDF Report.
-
Introducing Augmented Reality! Enhance your testing experience with real time biofeedback on video footage captured by HumanTrak. As the patient performs a test, you will now see the following real time digital markers on screen:
- Tracking lines for both hip and shoulder, and
- Primary metric display adjacent to the patient.
- We've made some changes to the in-app prompts, helping patients position themselves correctly for each test.
- Finding the information you're after is now even easier, with a new search bar available in the Session Library panel and the Reports screen.
- Scroll functionality has been improved in the Session Library and Test Library panels.
- We've added some more tests to the HumanTrak library:
- Single Leg Pistol Squat
- Seated Hip Internal Rotation
- Seated Hip External Rotation
Note: In this release, these new tests will not display the primary metric using Augmented Reality, and will not be uploaded to VALD Hub. This functionality will be available in a future release of HumanTrak.
v4.1.2July 1 2024
New and enhanced features
- You can now record Trunk Flexion and Trunk Extension tests while the individual is standing side-on to the HumanTrak camera.
- Weight Bearing Dorsiflexion rep detection has been improved, allowing you to capture accurate knee over toe distances, particularly in people with ankle injuries or limited range of motion.
- We've made improvements to the new positioning circle, helping to guide the subject into the appropriate position relative to the specific test being performed. The positioning circle will guide you to stand:
- 2 meters from the camera for Neck Range of Motion tests.
- 3 meters from the camera for Weight Bearing Dorsiflexion tests.
- 3.5 meters from the camera for Lunge tests.
- 2.5 meters from the camera for all other tests.
- Metric taglines (e.g. 'Higher value is generally preferred') for range of motion tests have been removed.
Resolved issues
- Fixed bug where rep detection was not working as expected for Weight Bearing Dorsiflexion tests when the knee was not crossing the foot.
- Fixed issue where the file size of PDF reports was larger than expected. HumanTrak PDF Reports will now save to the Microsoft PDF driver by default.
- Fixed issue when opening the file save dialog box where the initial folder is set to a directory that does not exist (e.g. after unplugging an external hard drive).
v4.1.1June 11 2024
New and enhanced features
- A new positioning circle has been added to the testing screen to help position the individual in front of the camera.
- You can now mirror the video feed by enabling the 'Mirror video feed' toggle in the Settings menu.
- We've improved PDF reporting by adding a tabular data view.
- Increased prompt size for better visibility.
- Improved Trunk rotation test by adding a new metric (spinal rotation with respect to pelvis) to isolate spinal rotation.
- Based on user feedback and to help make rep detection easier, we have separated the four bidirectional test types into the following eight unidirectional tests:
- Shoulder Extension
- Shoulder Flexion
- Shoulder Abduction
- Shoulder Adduction
- Shoulder External Rotation
- Shoulder Internal Rotation
- Trunk Extension
- Trunk Flexion
These tests are brand new and will not show any historical data for the previous bidirectional tests in HumanTrak or VALD Hub. Previous bidirectional test results can still be viewed separately. New tests will be available in VALD Hub in due course.

- PDF report layout has been improved for better readability.
- Spinal Rotation metric added to Trunk Rotation tests.
- When logging in, you will now be directed to a web browser for a more secure login experience.
- You can now use an Orbbec Femto Bolt camera with the HumanTrak software.
