This article provides a comprehensive overview of all the features and improvements that have been implemented in each HumanTrak release for Windows.
v4.3.8June 5 2026
New and enhanced features
- This release brings you a new, efficient workflow to streamline your HumanTrak custom tests: 'Test now, measure later'.
- Use HumanTrak's video capabilities to record each repetition from start to end, then add measurements in bulk after the session.
- Create a new custom test type and set Mode of operation to Video to get started.
Previously created custom tests default to Snapshot mode. As 'Test now, measure later' relies on video recording, edit and switch existing tests to Video if needed.
- Session report PDFs can now be automatically uploaded to VALD Hub upon completing a session. This option is enabled by default, and can be disabled in Settings.
- Improved profile syncing with faster speeds and greater reliability, especially for larger teams of athletes.
Resolved issues
- Fixed an issue where the active test was not visible in the results panel when running a session with multiple tests.

- Introducing Broad Jump: a new test type to allowing you to assess horizontal power through jump distance and take-off angle.

- The organisation's logo has been added to session reports exported from the system in the upper-left corner of the PDF. Upload your logo in VALD Hub by navigating to Management > Settings.
- This release adds support mode – an expanded testing view with additional indicators – enabling our team to better assist with troubleshooting.
- The interface for custom measurements and angles has undergone a visual refresh.
Resolved issues
- Restored portrait-mode scaling to match the more natural video behaviour seen in version 4.3.1.
- Resolved upload errors when the Windows display language was set to a non-English locale.
- Fixed snapshot visibility so images no longer appear when video recording is disabled.
- Reordered the test library alphabetically for easier navigation.

- You can now create and perform a custom test in HumanTrak! This allows you to use HumanTrak's advanced capture and reporting tools with your own custom movements.

- When performing multiple dynamic lower limb tests in succession (e.g. squats, lunges, jumps), the system will now require only one initial calibration, removing the need to recalibrate between tests.

- A new detailed results section shows all available metrics for the test, making it easier to view and compare data across reps.

- For specific tests, you can manually override rep thresholds during testing, allowing reps to be recorded even if the default detection limit isn't met. These tests include:
- Neck Lateral Flexion
- Neck Rotation

- Improved best rep logic for Squat and Overhead Squat tests:
- The 'best rep' is now based on the highest peak knee flexion, regardless of side.
- The summary screen snapshot matches this best rep.
- The primary metric now reflects the higher of left/right from the best rep only.

- You can now perform a Countermovement Jump test with HumanTrak. This test automatically reports on:
- Jump height
- Countermovement depth
- Full-body joint angle metrics
- We've added a new group testing mode on the home screen to quickly sequence a group of profiles and perform multiple sessions quickly.
- The position circle has been moved to the bottom-right corner of the testing screen for better usability.
- We've made some further improvements to the Results screen and PDF report.
- Increased the display size of normative and longitudinal charts.
- Longitudinal charts now appear after the first test is completed, helping track progress over time from the outset.
- Distance metrics (e.g. jump height, knee over toe distance) now support imperial unit display based on your organization's settings in VALD Hub.
- We've added new camera connection troubleshooting steps. If your camera disconnects mid-session, you can reconnect without losing your session progress.
Resolved issues
- Fixed a bug where reps, center of mass (CoM) visuals, and other results were not displaying as expected when navigating through completed tests.
- Fixed a bug where the Standing Posture longitudinal chart was not displaying the y-axis at zero as expected.

You can now view normative data (Norms) results for a number of different tests and metrics.
- Current and historical test results can easily be benchmarked against normative percentile ranges.
If desired, Norms can be disabled in VALD Hub through Management > Settings by toggling off the "Display Normative Data" setting.
- We've also made some further improvements to test batteries.
- It's now even easier to set test parameters when adding a balance test to a test battery.

- You can now easily create your own custom test batteries to streamline your movement assessments with HumanTrak.
- Use one of the preconfigured common test batteries on the home screen, or create your own in the Test Batteries screen using the

- You can now redo a unilateral balance test for a single side. If one side was not captured correctly simply click
and select the side to delete, then repeat the assessment.

- Fixed bug where the HumanTrak app failed to correctly sync profile counts with VALD Hub due to an issue in handling group assignments during the sync process.

Introducing Augmented Reality! Enhance your
testing experience with
real time biofeedback
on video footage captured by HumanTrak. As the patient performs
a test, you will now see the following real time digital markers
on screen:
- Tracking lines for both hip and shoulder, and
- Primary metric display adjacent to the patient.
- We've made some changes to the in-app prompts, helping patients position themselves correctly for each test.
- Finding the information you're after is now even easier, with a new search bar available in the Session Library panel and the Reports screen.
- Scroll functionality has been improved in the Session Library and Test Library panels.

We've added some more tests to the HumanTrak library:
- Single Leg Pistol Squat
- Seated Hip Internal Rotation
- Seated Hip External Rotation
Note: In this release, these new tests will not display the primary metric using Augmented Reality, and will not be uploaded to VALD Hub. This functionality will be available in a future release of HumanTrak.

- You can now record Trunk Flexion and Trunk Extension tests while the individual is standing side-on to the HumanTrak camera.
- Weight Bearing Dorsiflexion rep detection has been improved, allowing you to capture accurate knee over toe distances, particularly in people with ankle injuries or limited range of motion.
- We've made improvements to the new positioning circle, helping to guide the subject into the appropriate position relative to the specific test being performed. The positioning circle will guide you to stand:
- 2 meters from the camera for Neck Range of Motion tests.
- 3 meters from the camera for Weight Bearing Dorsiflexion tests.
- 3.5 meters from the camera for Lunge tests.
- 2.5 meters from the camera for all other tests.
- Metric taglines (e.g. 'Higher value is generally preferred') for range of motion tests have been removed.
Resolved issues
- Fixed bug where rep detection was not working as expected for Weight Bearing Dorsiflexion tests when the knee was not crossing the foot.
- Fixed issue where the file size of PDF reports was larger than expected. HumanTrak PDF Reports will now save to the Microsoft PDF driver by default.
- Fixed issue when opening the file save dialog box where the initial folder is set to a directory that does not exist (e.g. after unplugging an external hard drive).

- A new positioning circle has been added to the testing screen to help position the individual in front of the camera.
- You can now mirror the video feed by enabling the 'Mirror video feed' toggle in the Settings menu.
- We've improved PDF reporting by adding a tabular data view.
- Increased prompt size for better visibility.
- Improved Trunk rotation test by adding a new metric (spinal rotation with respect to pelvis) to isolate spinal rotation.
- Based on user feedback and to help make rep detection easier, we have separated the four bidirectional test types into the following eight unidirectional tests:
- Shoulder Extension
- Shoulder Flexion
- Shoulder Abduction
- Shoulder Adduction
- Shoulder External Rotation
- Shoulder Internal Rotation
- Trunk Extension
- Trunk Flexion
These tests are brand new and will not show any historical data for the previous bidirectional tests in HumanTrak or VALD Hub. Previous bidirectional test results can still be viewed separately. New tests will be available in VALD Hub in due course.
