Using ForceFrame offline

ForceFrame iOS and Windows software allow you to conduct testing in offline mode – without an internet connection. This can be useful if you are testing in an area with poor coverage, or if VALD's online systems are temporarily under maintenance.

Note: You cannot log in to the ForceFrame iOS app without an internet connection. You must first log in while connected to the internet before attempting to conduct tests offline.

To record tests in offline mode, simply test as you normally would using your ForceFrame. All test results collected offline will be added to the Pending Uploads queue in the app.

When you open the ForceFrame app after reestablishing an internet connection, pending tests will automatically start uploading to VALD Hub. Alternatively, if you already have the app open when re-connecting to the internet, tap the Pending Uploads queue to initiate uploading of your offline test data.

After a successful upload, an Upload Complete pop-up will appear and the test data will be available on VALD Hub.

Testing offline with ForceFrame Windows

We recommend conducting offline testing in the ForceFrame iOS app where possible, particularly during any periods of planned maintenance.

If you need to use ForceFrame Windows instead, observe the following instructions.

1. Ensure all profiles you plan to test have already been created in VALD Hub.
2. Log in to the ForceFrame Windows software before the start of any maintenance window.
3. Once signed in, activate Airplane Mode on your laptop OR disconnect it from the internet.
4. Conduct your tests as per usual.
5. Once you have access to the internet again, connect and allow test data to sync.

Keeping your device disconnected from the internet prevents unsuccessful attempts to reconnect. This helps ensure that your locally available test and profile data remains available while offline.
