When performing tests with your NordBord, you have the option to record the individual's knee position on the NordBord, which allows you to:
- increase the reliability and repeatability of future tests, and
- measure torque - Torque (Nm) = Force (N) x Length (derived from knee position).
Determine the knee position
Have the individual get into position on the NordBord, kneeling on the knee pad with their ankles in the hooks.
Shuffle forwards and backwards on the knee pad until:
- the ankle hooks are at the top of their shoe, and
- their ankle is perpendicular with their lower leg.
With the individual in position, record their knee position.
The knee position you record should be where the knees touch the pad, rather than the knee position in line with the front of their thigh.
Select the knee position
Whether testing using the iOS or Windows app, you can select the correct knee position using the steps below.
NordBord iOS
If this is the first time you are testing this individual, the app will prompt you to select a knee position during the test setup. Use the ruler to scroll to the relevant knee position.
Click Start to begin your test.
The app will then remember this knee position for all future testing with this individual. This ensures you can set up the same testing scenario each time without having to keep any external notes.
If you need to change the knee position at any point, click the Position button in the bottom-right and adjust.
NordBord Windows
If this is the first time you are testing this individual, navigate to the Knee Position view in your NordBord app and select the knee position.
The app will then remember this knee position for all future testing with this individual. This ensures you can set up the same testing scenario each time without having to keep any external notes.
If you need to change the knee position at any point, select a new position in the Knee Position view.
