This guide will walk you through how to conduct a NordBord test using the NordBord iOS app.
Set up the test
- Turn your NordBord on by pressing the power button. The lights will indicate both that the device is on, and how much charge the device currently has.
- Open the NordBord app on your iOS device and log in.
- Click START TESTING in the main menu. This will begin searching for your NordBord. Once it appears, select your NordBord device.
- Select a profile for the assessment. If you have a long list of profiles, use the search bar or groups filter to narrow down your results and select the right profile.
- Select a test type for the assessment.
- Have the individual get into position on the NordBord, ensuring:
- the ankle hooks are resting at the top of their shoe, and
- their ankle is perpendicular with their lower leg.
- Back in the app, select the correct knee position for the individual. While this step is optional, selecting a knee position will give you an additional torque (Nm) metric in your test results.
- Press START to begin your test.
You can now see the results screen with a live force trace and test result tiles.
Perform the test
- Have the individual perform the test for as many reps as desired.
Unsure how to perform a certain test? Check out our NordBord Protocols for instructions and video guides.
- When you're ready to complete the assessment, click Finish.

Quick tip
You can use the slider and expand / collapse
buttons to place more focus on the test results.
You can view the Peak or Average strength results for the assessment. Switch between these options at any time in the Settings menu.
If you have performed this test type with the individual in the past, you will notice percentage change markers and longitudinal historical results based on their previous assessments. These allow you to easily see how the individual is progressing over time.
In the test results view, you can also:
- select an individual rep in the bar charts to view or delete that specific rep.
- select additional data points in the historical results graph to view the percentage of change over different sessions.
Once you are finished discussing results, click Upload to save this test data to VALD Hub.
