Accurate body weight measurement for an athlete or patient is critical to ensure high-quality, reliable data for ForceDecks metrics.
Weighing process and settings
To ensure the weight recorded for a test is as accurate as possible, the individual's body weight will be measured during the dedicated weighing phase prior to starting a test.
It is important for the individual to remain as still as possible while weighing is taking place. Even small actions such as talking, gesturing and looking around can cause weight fluctuations, leading to incorrect measurements.
Alternatively, you can choose to Skip the weighing stage. Note that the system may still measure body weight from the period where the individual is stable on the plates – this is a requirement to be able to produce ForceDecks metrics from a test.
Users can further increase weighing accuracy by adjusting weight detector thresholds and tolerances directly. See Manage ForceDecks iOS App Settings – Weighing for more.
Hide body weight
While obtaining an accurate measurement of an individual's weight is a vital step in calculating ForceDecks metrics, you may choose to not display this openly on the screen.
If, due to privacy or sensitivity concerns, you need to hide body weight, this can be adjusted via the application settings.
- Open the ForceDecks iOS app and navigate to Manage > Recording.
- Change Hide Body Weight During Recording to "Yes".
- Press Save.
This setting will only be reflected on the device you are currently using. If you record ForceDecks tests from multiple iOS devices or have other users in your organization that wish to hide body weight, these steps must be repeated on the additional device(s).
