When creating profiles for patients and athletes in VALD Hub, it is good practice to add them into appropriate Categories and Groups. This allows you to quickly find a certain grouping of patient profiles, both for conducting test sessions with different VALD systems, and viewing and comparing results in VALD Hub.

What are Categories and Groups?
Categories and Groups are a two-tiered system for organising profiles in VALD Hub. A Category is a broader classification that allows you to arrange various Groups together in the same Category.
Example user | Category | Groups |
A Strength and Conditioning Coach who oversees athletes in a particular sporting association. | Sporting association name |
|
An allied health clinic consisting of multiple physiotherapists / physical therapists. | Clinic name |
|
Depending on your set up, you can assign a profile in up to eight Groups.
Create a Category
- Log in to VALD Hub.
- Navigate to Management in the left navigation bar and click into the CATEGORIES tab.
- Click the
button.
- Type in the Category Name, then click the
button.
Create a Group
You must create a Category before creating a Group, as each Group must be assigned to a particular Category.
- Navigate to Management in the left navigation bar and click into the GROUPS tab.
- Click the
button.
- Type in the Group Name, then select the related Category from the drop-down menu.
- Click the
button.
Add Profiles to a Group
Profiles that already exist in your VALD Hub can be added to Groups directly from the GROUPS tab.
- Navigate to Management in the left navigation bar and click into the GROUPS tab.
- Click on the relevant Group in the list.
- Click the
button.
Clicking into the ASSIGNED tab will show you all profiles currently assigned to the Group. - Search for the profiles in the resultant list, clicking the
button for each profile.
- When you are satisfied with the profile list in the Group, click the
button.
If you do not already have a list of profiles created in VALD Hub, you can also add them to a Group(s) during the Create Profile process.
Move or remove Profiles from a Group
To ensure your Group reporting remains accurate, you can easily move or remove profiles from Groups.
- Navigate to Management in the left navigation bar and click into the GROUPS tab.
- Click on the relevant Group in the list.
- You will be presented with a list of all profiles currently assigned to this Group.
- Use the checkboxes on the left to select the profile(s), then click either
or
to reassign the profile(s).
- The Move selected button will prompt you to choose a different Group for the profile, whereas the Remove selected will delete the profiles from the Group.
Note: Profiles must always be assigned to at least one Group. If you attempt to remove a profile from one Group without them being assigned to another, you will receive an error.
