Quadrant charts allow you to compare results for a group of profiles by plotting two related metrics on a four‑quadrant graph. These charts display each profile's position for two selected metrics relative to set benchmarks, making them ideal for identifying relationships, performance gaps and individuals or subgroups requiring targeted attention.
This guide walks you through how to create and manage a quadrant chart on your Group Dashboard. Find here info relating to monitoring charts.
Jump to:
Create a quadrant chart
- In your VALD Hub, access the Dashboard tab via the side navigation menu.
- Click the button and select Quadrant Chart (right side). Press continue.
-
Select a VALD system, test type and any additional parameters for the X-axis.
Currently, charts can be created for ForceDecks, ForceFrame, NordBord, DynaMo, and SmartSpeed.
- Select a VALD system, test type and any additional parameters for the Y-axis.
-
Select group(s) of profiles to be analyzed within a specific date range.
Opt for a preset time period or define your own (up to 6 months) using the custom date range function.
- Set a comparison population. Depending on how you would like to to benchmark your data, you may choose the Group Average from an existing set of profiles, or use Manual mode to assign custom values to the axes.
- Set the chart title – if not specified, this will default to 'X-axis metric vs Y-axis metric'.
- Click the button.
Your chart will then appear as part of the Group Dashboard view.
Charts can be viewed as either a graph or a table. You can also click the Analysis group(s) dropdown to choose group(s) of profiles and update the data shown.

Table view
In the table view, results can be sorted by profile name (A - Z | Z - A) or results (low - high | high - low).
In the quadrant view, place your mouse cursor over a dot to see the name and results of the profile. You can also hover over a profile name in the list to highlight the corresponding dot in the chart.
Edit a dashboard chart
Once you have created a chart, you can edit this at any time by clicking on the Settings cog in the top-right, then choosing the Edit icon.
You can then edit the test type, metrics, and laterality displayed. After you have updated your settings, click Update.
Printing of quadrant charts from VALD Hub is not yet available
Duplicate a dashboard chart
Dashboard charts can also be duplicated by clicking the Settings cog and choosing the Duplicate icon.
This is helpful is you are wanting to look at the same test type but compare group results across different metrics.
Delete a dashboard chart
If you no longer need a dashboard chart, you can easily delete this by clicking on the Settings cog and selecting the Delete icon.
