If you have accidentally created duplicate profiles for the same person, you can easily merge the duplicates to keep all of their data in a single profile.
When you merge profiles, all assigned groups, test results and other data (e.g. MoveHealth exercise programs, education topics and Outcome Measures) are combined into the new merged profiles.
Your user must have full permission (VIEW, CREATE, MODIFY, DELETE) for 'VALD Hub Profile Management' in Management > User Access.
See 'Configure user permissions' for more information.
- In the Profiles view, search for and select the two profiles to be merged.
- Click Merge Profiles in the top-right.
This will open the Merge Profiles screen where you can review the details listed against both profiles.
- Use the 'Use these details' radio button to select which profile's demographic details will be kept after the merge.
How do I choose the right profile?
Review and compare the details shown for each profile to see if there are any differing details.
| Different details | Same details |
If the profiles are identical
If all details match, VALD Hub will automatically select the first profile in the list.
The system can also make an educated guess, automatically selecting a profile if only one profiles has a sync ID or email address.
If the profiles are different
If your profiles have different details, you must choose the profile that has the most correct details, including name, date of birth, sex and email address.
Except for the sync ID, email, and other mandatory profile fields, any blank field in the selected profile will not be copied from the other profile.
- With the chosen profile selected, press the
button. You will then need to confirm the merge.
Merging profiles is permanent and cannot be undone.
What happens after the merge?
Merging profiles can take some time (up to a few hours), depending on the number of tests associated with each profile.
Any tests recorded for the duplicate profile while offline will still upload and be correctly assigned to the merged profile – but this may not happen immediately.
To keep your profile list up-to-date, we recommend performing a profile sync before testing offline.
