Ankle Inversion
Long Sitting Compression
Patient position | Long sitting with their lower leg extending past the table, allowing the ankle to be unsupported. |
Contact point | Medial edge of the foot, just proximal to big toe, along the 1st metatarsal. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, with the device and palm pad supported by the practitioner and the curved end in contact with the patient. |
Position of examiner | Seated at the foot of the bed, medial to the leg being tested, supporting the patient just proximal to their ankle with one hand, and holding the DynaMo Plus with the other. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 - push, push, push and relax. |
Attachments | Palm pad, curved pad. |
Ankle Inversion
Long Sitting or SupineTension
Patient position | Long sitting or supine with hands clasped together, the leg not being tested in a hook-lying position, and the leg being tested in full extension with the ankle in neutral and foot extended past the edge of the bed so that it is not supported. |
Contact point | Lateral aspect of the ankle attachment, at the hook closest to the lateral aspect of the forefoot. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, linked to the ankle strap at one end and anchored to a fixed surface by the cable strap at the other, lateral to the patient's leg being tested. |
Position of examiner | Seated next to the patient in a position to orientate the DynaMo Plus, instruct and demonstrate the movement. |
Instruction | Pull against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 - pull, pull, pull and relax. |
Attachments | Ankle attachment, cable strap. |

Position of examiner | Seated next to the patient in a position to orientate the DynaMo Plus, instruct and demonstrate the movement. |

Ankle Plantar Flexion
Long Sitting or Supine Compression
Patient position | Long sitting or supine, with the leg being tested fully extended and opposite in a hook-lying position, with the ankle in a neutral position and situated just proximal to a fixed surface. |
Contact point | Distal aspect of the plantar surface of the foot. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, with the curved pad in contact with the patient and the flat pad in contact with a fixed surface. |
Position of examiner | Seated or kneeling next to the patient in position to place the DynaMo Plus, instruct and demonstrate the movement. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 - push, push, push and relax. |
Attachments | Flat pad, curved pad. |
