A soft padding or undergarment should be placed around the limb before applying an AirBands cuff. This can help reduce wrinkling, pinching, and shearing of the soft tissue.

- Fasten the cuff in the correct position, by wrapping the velcro band through the metal loop.
- Ensure you leave enough room under the cuff for two fingers between the skin and the band.
