If you notice ForceDecks is not capturing testing data accurately, the issue may be related to the load cells in your ForceDecks hardware.
Common signs of load cell problems include:
- recorded bodyweight is not accurate,
- large, unexpected asymmetries in results, and
- other results data out of the ordinary.
Each force plate contains four load cells that work together to measure force data. Watch the below video and follow the steps to troubleshoot any potential issues with your ForceDecks load cells.
You will need a measured weight (at least 20kg / 45lb) to troubleshoot this issue.
- Turn off your ForceDecks by pressing and holding down the power button on the primary plate.
- Disconnect the interplate cable.
- Gently flip one of the plates upside down and place on a flat surface.
- Turn on the flipped plate and connect to it in the ForceDecks app. Note down the serial number of the plate as shown in the ForceDecks app.
- Set up a dummy test. You can choose any profile and test type to proceed to the testing screen.
- Press Start and allow the plate to zero.
- Place a measured weight (at least 20kg / 45lb) on one of the feet, letting the weighing process complete.
- Note down the recorded weight and remove the weight from the foot.
Can't see the weight? Make sure you have gone into Manage > Recording and set "Hide Body Weight During Recording" to No.
- Press
Re-weigh in the bottom-left of the app.
- Repeat steps 7 – 9 for the other three feet on the force plate.
- Turn off the first plate and turn on the second plate.
- Return to the home screen of the ForceDecks app and connect to the new plate. Note down the serial number of the plate.
- Repeat steps 5 – 10 for the second plate.
Once you have completed the above steps you should have eight recorded weights for each foot.
If you notice any large discrepancies in your numbers, please email support@vald.com with:
- the serial number of the problem plate(s), and
- the recorded weights of each foot.
Our support team will be able to help you troubleshoot further, or organize a replacement plate for you.
