Scapula Protraction
Standing
Patient position | Supine with the arm being tested at 90 degrees shoulder flexion, elbow extended, forearm in neutral and hand in a clenched fist. |
Contact point | Dorsal aspect of the proximal phalanges. |
Device orientation | Vertical, with the practitioner end up and the palm pad supported by the practitioner, and the curved pad in contact with the patient. |
Position of examiner | Standing adjacent to the patient, supporting the DynaMo Plus with both hands. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 - push, push, push and relax. |
Attachments | Palm pad and curved pad. |
Scapula Retraction
Standing
Patient position | Seated, with the arm being assessed in 90 degrees shoulder flexion, elbow extension and forearm in neutral. |
Contact point | Patient holding the hand attachment. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, connected to the hand attachment at one end and connected to a fixed surface via the adjustable strap at the other. |
Position of examiner | Standing adjacent to the patient, in a position to instruct and demonstrate the movement. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 - push, push, push and relax. |
Attachments | Hand grip and adjustable strap. |
Scapula Scaption
90 Degree Shoulder Abduction
Patient position | Seated with arm being tested extended and elevated to 90 degrees in a scapular plane and forearm in neutral. |
Contact point | Distal aspect of the lateral upper arm, just proximal to the elbow. |
Device orientation | Vertical, with the practitioner supporting the flat surface from above and the curved pad in contact with the patient. |
Position of examiner | Standing adjacent to the arm being tested. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 - push, push, push and relax. |
