Neck Flexion
Seated Compression
Patient position | Seated with their arms holding onto a chair for support and their feet flat on the ground. |
Contact point | Anterior aspect of the patient’s forehead. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, with the examiner supporting the flat surface and the pad in contact with the patient. |
Position of examiner | Standing adjacent to the patient, with one hand holding the DynaMo Lite and resisting anterior force applied by the patient, the other supporting the patient’s upper back. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 – push, push, push and relax. |
Neck Extension
Seated Compression
Patient position | Seated with their arms holding onto a chair for support, and their feet flat on the ground. |
Contact point | Posterior aspect of the patient’s head, just superior to the occiput. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, with the examiner supporting the flat surface and the pad in contact with the patient. |
Position of examiner | Standing adjacent to the patient, with one hand holding the DynaMo Lite and resisting posterior force applied by the patient. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 – push, push, push and relax. |
Neck Extension
Prone Compression
Patient position | Prone with their arms hugging the edge of the table, and their head extending past the edge of the table so that it remains unsupported. |
Contact point | Just superior to the level of the occiput. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, with the flat surface in contact with the fixed surface and pad in contact with the occiput. |
Position of examiner | Standing adjacent to the patient, with one hand holding the DynaMo Lite and resisting posterior force applied by the patient. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 – push, push, push and relax. |
Neck Lateral Flexion (Left)
Seated Compression
Patient position | Seated with their hands holding onto a chair for support and their feet on the ground. |
Contact point | Lateral aspect of the patient’s head, on the temporal bone, just superior to the ear. |
Device orientation | Horizontal, with the examiner supporting the flat surface and the pad in contact with the patient. |
Position of examiner | Standing beside the patient, holding the DynaMo Lite with one hand, applying lateral pressure and supporting the patient’s opposite shoulder to ensure they remain stable with the other hand. |
Instruction | Push against the pad as hard as you can. 3, 2, 1 – push, push, push and relax. |
