Where does VALD get PROMs from?
VALD has chosen to make available 9 different standardised questionnaires:
Name |
Acronym |
Orebro Musculoskeletal Pain Screening Questionnaire | OMPSQ-10 |
Numeric Pain Scale | NPS |
Neck Outcome Score | NOOS |
American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons Score | ASES |
Quebec Back Pain Disability Score | QBPDS |
Hip and Groin Outcome Score | HAGOS |
Knee Injury & Osteoarthritis Outcome Score | KOOS |
International Knee Documentation Committee | IKDC |
Foot & Ankle Outcome Score | FAOS |
These PROMs have been selected for the following reasons:
- They are commonly used, so they are of ‘high utility’.
- Affordable for a free platform (some PROMs, even those widely used and recorded with a pen and paper, require expensive licences for digital media).
- They cover a wide range of purposes from screening, mental health, global health scores and regional or condition-specific surveys.
- They are known to have reasonably sound psychometrics.
- They have use at the practitioner and patient level, not just for research purposes.
What is the process for getting a PROM in Hub?
There is a process for raising new PROMs, including user requests, affordability (some PROMs need an expensive licence to use), and sound psychometric properties appropriately aligned with our health objectives. Clients can raise requests for new PROMs via the feedback form or through the client success team. VALD staff can raise new PROMs requests via the feedback form or directly through the product team.
Can we edit the PROMs currently uploaded?
PROMs cannot be edited as the questionnaire and the evaluation is standardised.
What if I need my patient to complete a PROM outside of the set schedule
To add a PROM outside a set schedule, you will need to setup a new PROMs series. Ie. you have PROMs scheduled for every 4 weeks for your patient, however your patient comes back at the 2 week mark and you want them to complete that particular PROM again. In this case you need to assign the same PROM starting today with a recurrence count of 1.
What happens if the patient doesn't complete the PROM?
The client is sent reminder notifications, but it will become inactive after several days if they don't complete the PROM. Clients will still get the invitation to complete the following survey when it is due until it is stopped (the default is 12 months for most surveys, or you can set this manually yourself).
Is there a guide on what condition to use each PROM with ie. who is suitable for it?
Please follow this link for a more in depth list of PROMs suitability.
Do patients get reminders?
Yes, patients will receive automated reminders when the recurrence arises.
Will I get reminders about PROMs due dates for my patients?
Clinicians will not receive any reminders. To check if your patient has completed their PROMs, you need to go into their profile and check their PROMs tile.
Can I export or print results of completed PROMs?
At this time, there is no option to export or print PROMs results.
